Meet the SWY 07 Team ... ish.
10 participating youth (PYs), 1 National Leader, and 2 reserves (one reserve PY and 1 reserve Leader) were chosen for next year's Australian contingent for the ship for world youth (SWY). There is an amazing wealth of knowledge and experience in the team - it will be great to be able to meet them all soon. Some of the skills base of us as a team are youth work, youth advocacy, politics, speaking Japanese fluent, world travel, cross cultural practice, government, IT, issues effecting rural youth, industrial relations, acting, dance/choreography, the united nations, youth entrepreneurship (sp?), and youth leadership and development. It's a pretty cool team if I do say so myself. I'll post a link with our bios when the media release comes out.
Heh. Media Release. Weird.
I've briefly spoken to the other Brisbane-ite involved and we'll be meeting up soon. Then, in the middle of November, we'll all be meeting together as a team for an intensive weekend of orientation and training. Can't wait!
Man, I still can't believe this is happening. What a spin out!
